Testament to ID21’s commitment and consistent achievement in delivering high-quality and well-designed workplaces, we are proud to share that we have been honoured at the 9th Annual Design Excellence Awards (DEA) for our work with Watsons, WarnerMedia and Prudential in Singapore.
Organised by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore, the DEA sets out to recognise the best of commercial, residential and public design by the Interior Design industry in Singapore and Asia Pacific, endorsing and celebrating the achievements of professionals and students alike.
Supporters, collaborators, vendors, members and partners of the interior design industry attended the awards gala dinner on 1 December 2022 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore for a night of networking and celebration.
This is the second year in a row that ID21 has been honoured at the DEA. In 2021, we clinched the Bronze Award under the Best Public Design category for our work with CapitaLand on The Galen in Singapore.
Here at ID21, we are committed to creating a respectful, safe and inclusive workplace. We believe that our values define our organisation and drive our success. They make us who we are, and they manifest in everything that we do. One of these values, “People First”, motivates us to improve the well-being of others and create a positive outcome and impact in everything that we undertake as a team. Driven by this commitment, our workplace wellness programme, titled “Wellness at Work”, was launched in early 2022 with the aim of achieving the following three objectives:
To help our people stay mentally resilient through the transition into the future of work while navigating the impact of the ongoing pandemic.
To foster a sense of belonging to the company
To improve productivity and allow our people to bring their best self to work.
Here are some initiatives that we have introduced under our corporate wellness programme – illustrating how acceptance, respect and empathy are embedded in our organisational culture to drive positive mental well-being outcomes.
Working from home during the pandemic did not hinder our efforts to connect with each other and build great relationships across the team. We have held office trivia quizzes, lucky draws, and even invited musically-inclined colleagues to perform live music during our virtual team-building sessions.
To encourage our employees to remain active and buffer some of the negative health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we regularly organise outdoor recreational activities while adhering to prevailing safe management measures, from after-work leisure runs around the Marina Bay precinct to soccer and yoga sessions for interested staff.
In line with ID21’s goal to positively impact lives, we had the opportunity to give back to the community by contributing our expertise, time and effort through meaningful partnerships with non-profit organisations like Care Corner Singapore and The Red Pencil (Singapore).
We involve our employees in volunteer work, such as donating furniture recovered from our office reinstatement projects to Care Corner Singapore, an organisation that promotes the well-being of individuals and families in the community through social and healthcare services.
In 2021, we ID21 provided pro-bono design and consultancy services for The Red Pencil’s new Creative Arts Therapy Centre in Redhill. The organisation works with schools, foster homes, family service centres and health-related associations to introduce creative arts therapy to children and low-income families in Singapore. We also rallied the support of our vendors for sponsorships and discounted rates for the build materials.
To coincide with Labour Day, the month of May is our designated “Appreciation Month”, and it involves the setting up of a “Gratitude Corner” at the office. The aim is to encourage ID21 employees to recognise the impact that their colleagues have made at work and to the lives of those around them. During the year-end period, we delivered cookies to employees who were working from home and supervising their children’s revision for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) at the same timeconcurrently. We also recognise and celebrate our female colleagues on International Women’s Day every year through the distribution of gifts such as tea blends and potted plants, which in turn encourages them to practice self-care.
